Key specs explained for the C5
Seat Shape: Elongated
This shape offers a longer front bowl area compared to a round seat. It provides more surface area for sitting, which many users find more comfortable. You should choose this if your toilet bowl is elongated. Using a mismatched seat can cause instability or poor fit. Verify your bowl type before purchasing to ensure proper alignment and secure mounting on the fixture.
Wash Modes: Pulsating, oscillating
These two modes define how the water stream moves during cleansing. Pulsating water moves in rhythmic bursts, while oscillating water moves back and forth. This variety allows you to adjust the intensity and coverage of the spray. You can select the mode that feels most effective for your needs. This flexibility helps ensure a thorough clean without requiring excessive water pressure or manual adjustment.
Width: 15.1 inches
This measurement indicates the side-to-side dimension of the unit. It determines how much space the seat occupies on the toilet bowl. You need to ensure this width fits your existing toilet base without overhanging excessively. Standard elongated bowls typically accommodate this width. Checking this dimension helps you avoid installation issues and ensures the seat sits securely and evenly on the porcelain surface.
Length: 20.9 inches
This is the front-to-back measurement of the bidet seat. It aligns with the standard length for elongated toilet bowls. This dimension ensures the seat covers the bowl appropriately for comfort and hygiene. You should measure your toilet bowl to confirm it matches this length. Proper alignment prevents gaps that can collect dirt or cause the seat to feel loose during use.
Design and Build Overview
The TOTO C5 Elongated Bidet Seat is constructed from durable plastic with a cotton white finish. According to the listing, this color option is the only one available for this model. The smooth surface is easy to wipe down, which helps maintain hygiene. The elongated shape matches most standard elongated toilet bowls, ensuring a proper fit. You should verify your toilet shape before purchasing, as it will not fit round bowls.
The unit measures 20.9 inches in length and 15.1 inches in width. It sits 0.99 inches above the existing toilet seat. This low profile keeps the overall height manageable for most users. The seat weighs 15.5 pounds, providing a solid feel without being overly heavy for installation. The included components consist of the bidet seat itself, requiring no additional parts for basic setup.
Controls are managed via a convenient remote control, allowing you to adjust settings without reaching for the side panel. The remote offers personalized water cleansing options and two user memory settings. This layout keeps the seat surface clean and uncluttered. The design prioritizes functionality and ease of use, making it suitable for households with multiple users who want quick access to their preferred settings.
Setup And Everyday Use
Installation is straightforward. The listing notes this is a do-it-yourself project, so you can handle the setup without professional help. The unit weighs 15.5 pounds, making it manageable for one person. It connects to your existing toilet water supply. You will need to ensure your bathroom has a nearby electrical outlet for the electronic functions.
Daily operation centers on the included remote control. This allows you to adjust settings without reaching for the seat. You can customize water temperature and pressure. The wash modes include pulsating and oscillating streams. You can choose between these for a gentle or more intense clean. The remote also lets you save two user profiles. This is useful if multiple people use the same toilet.
Hygiene features activate automatically. The PREMIST function mists the bowl before use. This uses incoming water to prevent waste from sticking. The EWATER+ system cleans the wand internally and externally. You do not need to manually sanitize the nozzle.
Comfort features include a heated seat. The SoftClose lid lowers quietly. An air deodorizer filters odors from the bathroom. A warm air dryer helps you dry off after washing. These functions run independently or together. You control everything via the remote. The design keeps the interface simple and accessible. You get consistent performance from each use.
Before you buy the TOTO C5
You need to verify your toilet bowl shape first. This model fits only elongated bowls. If your toilet is round, the C5 will not align correctly. The listing shows a round option exists, but this specific unit is for elongated shapes. Check the dimensions against your existing fixture. The seat measures 20.9 inches in length. Ensure your bathroom layout can accommodate this width of 15.1 inches. You will need an accessible electrical outlet nearby for the electronic functions. The unit requires a standard water supply connection. Upkeep involves cleaning the nozzle and seat surface. The EWATER+ system helps maintain hygiene, but you should still wipe down the exterior regularly. This seat adds a layer of comfort to your current toilet. It does not replace the vanity or the bowl itself. It is an upgrade to your existing setup. Consider if the extra features justify the installation effort. The remote control adds convenience but requires battery maintenance. Make sure your plumbing can handle the water pressure for the spray functions.
Check before you buy
- Confirm your toilet bowl is elongated, not round.
- Check for an accessible electrical outlet near the toilet.
- Measure your bathroom space for the 15.1 inch width.
- Verify your water supply connection is compatible.
