Who it fits
Good fit for
This bidet seat suits households that value consistent warm water without waiting for a tank to heat. The four user memory settings are ideal for families with multiple members who prefer different cleansing intensities. The PREMIST feature helps users who want to reduce cleaning frequency for the toilet bowl. The included remote control is useful for those who prefer physical buttons over wall-mounted panels. It fits standard round toilets, making it a good match for older bathrooms or specific fixture layouts.
Who should skip it
Buyers looking for an elongated seat shape should look at another option, as this specific listing is for the round variant. If you need a bidet with a built-in tank for water storage, this instantaneous heating model may not fit your plumbing setup. Users who prefer a minimalist aesthetic without a remote control might find the included handset unnecessary. Those with elongated toilets will need to check the separate elongated variation, as the round shape will not fit their fixture properly.
Verdict: The TOTO Washlet S5 offers reliable instantaneous heating and helpful PREMIST technology for consistent cleanliness. It is a solid choice for users with round toilets who value personalized settings and remote control convenience.
Key specs for the TOTO S5
Seat Shape: Round
This bidet seat is designed specifically for round toilet bowls. You must verify that your existing toilet is round before purchasing. Elongated bowls will not fit this model. If you have an elongated toilet, you should look for the elongated version of this seat instead. Choosing the correct shape ensures a secure fit and proper installation without gaps or instability.
Wash Modes: Pulsating and oscillating
These modes offer distinct cleansing sensations for your hygiene routine. Pulsating water provides a rhythmic, massaging stream that can help relax muscles. Oscillating motion moves the water back and forth to cover a wider area. You can choose the setting that feels most effective for your needs. This variety allows you to customize your cleaning experience for maximum comfort and thoroughness.
Instantaneous Water Heating
This feature heats water on demand rather than storing it in a tank. You get a continuous stream of warm water for as long as you need it. There is no waiting for water to reheat, and you do not have to worry about running out of warm water during use. This is ideal for households with multiple users who want consistent temperature control.
Dimensions: 19.1 inches long, 15.1 inches wide
These measurements describe the physical footprint of the bidet seat. You should check your toilet bowl dimensions to ensure there is enough clearance for installation. The length and width must align with your toilet’s mounting holes. Proper sizing ensures the seat sits securely and does not interfere with nearby walls or fixtures. Accurate dimensions help you plan the bathroom layout effectively.
TOTO Washlet S5 Design and Build
The TOTO Washlet S5 is a round bidet seat finished in Cotton White. According to the listing, it measures 19.1 inches in length and 15.1 inches in width. The unit sits low, with a height of just 0.99 inches. It weighs 15.2 pounds, which suggests a solid, stable build that feels secure when installed. This low profile helps it blend seamlessly with standard toilet designs without protruding awkwardly. The round shape is critical for fit. You must ensure your toilet bowl is round, not elongated, to avoid installation issues.
Controls are handled via a dedicated remote control. This allows you to adjust water settings without reaching for the seat itself. The listing notes four user memory settings, letting you save personalized preferences for quick access. This layout keeps the main seat surface clean and uncluttered. The remote provides luxury and convenience at your fingertips, simplifying daily use for multiple household members.
The finish is a simple, practical Cotton White. It is available in Sedona Beige if you prefer a warmer tone. The style options include Contemporary and Contemporary Lid variations. These choices let you match the aesthetic of your existing bathroom fixtures. The included components are just the bidet unit itself, meaning you handle the installation. The design prioritizes function and ease of use over complex built-in panels.
Setup and Everyday Use Guide
The listing states that installation is designed for easy do-it-yourself setup. You connect the unit to your existing water supply and power source. The seat fits round toilet bowls and measures 19.1 inches in length and 15.1 inches in width. It sits low at 0.99 inches high, so it does not add significant bulk to your bathroom fixture. The unit weighs 15.2 pounds, which is standard for this category. In daily use, the S5 relies on instantaneous water heating. This means it heats water on demand rather than storing it in a tank. You get a continuous warm stream for as long as you need it. The cleansing options include pulsating and oscillating modes. You can choose the pattern that suits your preference. The remote control allows you to adjust these settings without leaving the seat. It also supports four user memory settings. This feature helps multiple household members save their preferred water temperature and spray position. The seat includes a SoftClose heated surface that stays warm. A built-in nightlight provides a soft glow for nighttime use. An air deodorizer neutralizes odors using powerful filters. You can also use the adjustable warm air dryer for cleanup. Before each use, PREMIST mists the bowl to prevent waste from sticking. The wand self-cleans automatically with EWATER technology inside and out. This maintains hygiene with minimal effort from you. The system is designed for dependable, long-lasting daily use.
Check Compatibility Before Buying
Before purchasing the TOTO Washlet S5, verify your toilet shape. This model fits only round bowls. If you have an elongated toilet, this seat will not work. You must also check your bathroom’s electrical outlet location. The unit requires a standard power connection near the toilet. Keep in mind the seat’s height is just 0.99 inches. This low profile ensures it sits flush with most round toilets. Regular maintenance includes cleaning the nozzle and checking the air filter for the deodorizer. The PREMIST feature uses water pressure, so ensure your supply line is compatible. This bidet seat stands out among the 1 options in Bathroom Vanities for its instant heating and remote control. It offers a practical upgrade for daily hygiene. The soft-close seat and nightlight add convenience without complicating your routine. Ensure your existing toilet has a standard mounting hole pattern. This compatibility check prevents installation issues. The S5 is a solid choice for those seeking reliable, spec-driven performance in a compact design.
